The 4 exercises my group did in training: Confident Communicator, Downward Communication, What to Observe in a Stranger and Don'ts in Office
Communicate for Success training ended at 6pm yesterday. Overall, it was an excellent course and I enjoyed the real life stories :-) There were 2 lessons that I takeaway from the training:
- It is upon me to take initiative to prevent or fix communication breakdown in my project. I can't blame anyone nor can I be indifferent to the situations around me. This hold true for anyone in the project (team members, team leader and project manager)
- Rotation of roles and responsibilities is great for a project. Members can swap tasks and in the end, everyone knows how to do each others work. This can provide a backup in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Just sharing four of the exercises we did during the training:
Confident Communicator - We answer the question, "What are some of the attributes of a confident communicator?"
Downward Communication - We list down the communications that we do as normal members of a project reporting to a leader
What to Observe in a Stranger - The things we look out for when meeting a total stranger for the first time (Also known as first impression). By the way, the girl in the picture is drawn by a female colleague. The only human character I can draw is a stick-man :-D
What Must Not Do in Office - The things we should not do in office in terms of communication
